XOXO is a love story not only between Jenny and Jaewoo but Jenny and Korea. I was giddy reading this book and I couldn’t put it down one second. The heartwarming friend groups, the sweet romance, and finding a home away from home is the perfect recipe for an incredible comfort read.
The High Mountain Court is such a refreshing take on fae and witch stories that I used to be obsessed with but got bored of. This book drew me right back into this folklore and had me itching for more. I can’t wait for book two of this fun, sweet, steamy, and intricate series.
The All-Consuming World defies expectations and turns our ideas of the world on their heads. This book is a stunningly turbulent read that will catch you off guard and stretch the boundaries of your mind. Though it was difficult to get into at first, sticking through was so worth it.
Frogman’s Response is the most realistic high school experience that I have read in so long. Voss will put you right in the shoes of these teenagers and make you remember your high school days. It will make you feel nostalgic for high school and glad you don’t have to go back all at once.
Iron Widow is a gripping reimagining of Wu Zetian, the only female emperor of China, full of seething rage against the patriarchy. This reimagining gets insanely creative with it’s worldbuilding while maintaining easy to follow transitions and descriptions. It offers many different perspectives of how women survive an extremely oppressive patriarchal society but manages to stay cool and fun all at once.
Panacea >Build 1.0 is a brilliant new cyberpunk debut that I couldn’t put down. The characters are full of heart, and so is the story. Gripping and realistic, this world will pull you in right from the start. Panacea is both action-packed and character-driven, this stunning debut by Charli Drever doesn’t hold back.
Left Hand of Dog was an absolute breath of fresh air. It impressed me the entire time how it could tackle challenging topics in a fun and humorous way. Progress is a difficult journey, but sometimes we deserve to laugh in the process. An absolute joy to read.
Bloody Spade was a really fun adventure with well-thought-out magic and incredibly lovable characters. It was so comforting to read about the character’s growth and healing, all through a fun and action-packed book. Definitely a hidden gem!
Leave the World Behind is truly written wonderfully. Even though not much happened, the writing is compelling enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. The brilliance of this novel is in the writing and the way that it leaves so much to your imagination, but encourages you to imagine the worst. Chilling!
