The Last Feather is a delightful soft fantasy that pulled me in right from the start. The world that Papathanasiou builds is something that you can not miss. This fresh portal fantasy will leave you yearning for more.
Circling Back to You is fun, sweet, and relatable. You will find yourself rooting for Matt and Cadence for so many reasons: to get their promotions, to realize their love for each other, to iron out family dynamics, and so much more. This book is the perfect office romance!
The Candid Life of Meena Dave is a stunning and comforting story about finding your way back to your heritage and building community. It is the coming of age story I need as an adult and it filled my heart with joy.
Seoulmates is a wonderful contemporary romance worthy of a K-Drama. If you love dramatic romances with dreamy K-pop stars, this is for you!
Anna Gracia pulls at my heart in a way I have never experienced before. I related to June’s background growing up an Asian Woman in a primarily white area so much and I’ve never seen it immortalized in fiction before. I wish I had this book for myself when I was a teen but I’m so happy it exists for teens today.
Burn Down, Rise Up is a brilliant contemporary horror that masterfully emphasizes the dark history of the Bronx into the thing of urban legends. The writing and the wonderful world-building is sure to stick with you for days after you read.
Deep in Providence by Riss M Neilson, a YA contemporary story that explores grief, friendship, and magic
Deep in Providence is a hauntingly beautiful exploration of love, friendship, and all ways that grief can completely encompass everything in our lives. It will pull at your heartstrings in more ways than you even realize. It is a truly stunning debut.
Book review of Ophelia After All by Racquel Marie. A queer coming of age story
Ophelia After All is a beautiful book of self-discovery, questioning, friendship, and support systems. It’s a warm hug to anyone who has ever questioned anything about their identity and I can’t help think about how lucky we are that books like this exist. It is absolutely stunning.
Book review of Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li. An emotional diaspora story full of art heists and Chinese secret societies, and young adults just trying to find their place in the world
I have never read a book that felt like it was reading into my soul in the same way that Portrait of a Thief did and I absolutely recommend it to every single person. This book is a stunning way to start to understand some of the Asian diaspora experience and I cannot wait to hold my copy in my hands. Thank you so much, Grace Li, this book spoke directly to my soul.
