Why Diverse Books Only?

Here at Bookish Brews we firmly believe that books are art and art is culture. We believe that every story is a piece of our culture and it is important to be intentional with the art that we consume and the art that we promote in our culture. It isn’t just that books are part of our culture but it’s the acknowledgment that culture precedes legislation. We fully believe that if we are intentional with the books that we promote, we can make a positive change in our culture and eventually in our legislation.

Books are a powerful tool to help us shift the popular narrative and we believe that intentionality will help direct culture in the ways that we want to see. Bookish Brews is about intention and most importantly learning. None of us know everything but the most exciting way to learn about others is through fiction. We firmly believe that there is so much to learn through fiction and so we want to help pass that along to you. Thank you so much for joining. This is a lifelong process but we firmly believe it is a worthy cause. Happy reading!

Recommend an Upcoming Release

Do you or someone you’re working with have a book coming out soon? You can submit a book to put it on my radar. We select books based on many factors but we cannot select a book that we don’t know about! We work really hard to keep up with all the new book releases across all publishers and imprints, but inevitably some fall through the cracks.

What Genres Will I Find Here?

While I like to believe that I read a broad range of genres, the truth is it’s never going to be all encompassing. I cover mostly science fiction, fantasy, young adult, romance, horror, and contemporary. There will always be exceptions, but you can anticipate to find the most of those genres here on Bookish Brews Featured Bookshelf.

Decolonize Your Bookshelf With Me

Hi! I’m Amanda. Bookish Brews started as a personal project to decolonize my bookshelf turned into a passion for diverse stories. Once I realized how much we can grow personally from stories by people with different experiences than our own, I realized how much they impact our world. But I also know that growth from stories does not happen without intentionality. Bookish Brews is dedicated to building meaningful conversations about how stories by diverse voices can change our lives, our culture, and our world.

"Let's change the system via the lens of compelling fiction."
